You will be met and transferred to Wilson Airport. Take a scheduled charter flight to Amboseli. On arrival you will met and transferred to Tortilis Camp. Named after the natural forest of flat-topped acacia tortilis thorn trees that give it shade, the charming Tortilis Camp is situated on a sprawling private concession, accessed from within the renowned Amboseli National Park. Guests can expect elegant accommodation and endless views stretching to the majestic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru in Tanzania. The camp’s beautifully-appointed tents are spacious, with comfortable beds, lovely ensuite bathrooms and a private veranda. Located about a four-hour drive (240 km or 150 miles) southeast of Nairobi, Amboseli National Park is well known for its herds of big tusked elephants. A scenic park in its own right, Amboseli is synonymous with two particular things – majestic herds of elephant and glorious views of Mount Kilimanjaro in neighbouring Tanzania. Kenya’s second most popular national park after the Masai Mara National Reserve, Amboseli was declared a UNESCO-Mab Biosphere Reserve in 1991. During heavy rains, the basin at the centre of the park floods, attracting hordes of wildlife. The reserve is an excellent place to view the Big Five, as well as lesser known and rarer wildlife species.

This is the only place in Kenya where topi are common. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives. An optional balloon safari may be taken. (As the sun rises over the plains of Africa you will have a bird’s eye view of the world below and the chance to see game from a completely different perspective. After landing, there is a champagne breakfast in the bush). You will check in at the Main Governors Camp.
Governors’ Camp is Africa’s first permanent tented camp, remaining in its original site since 1972. Governors’ Camp occupies the best wildlife viewing location in the Reserve, nestled in the riverine forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, its waters teeming with bird-life, hippo and crocodile. It is perfect for couples, families and friends wanting to experience the best of what a safari in the Masai Mara has to offer. Governors’ Camp is ideally situated to maximize the game viewing experience of its guests throughout the year. It is also located in one of the most spectacular parts of the Masai Mara in Kenya. The camp is at the heart of the wildebeest migration that passes through this area between July and September. The Mara River sees some of the most dramatic scenes of wildebeest and zebra crossing the river and facing the waiting crocodiles. This is the quintessential time for the annual migration.

Residing in this stunning “impenetrable” rainforest, Bwindi protects over 300 robust gentle mountain gorillas. Feeding on nutritious roots, leaves and fruits from the park’s tree and fern species, the gorillas form a sublime backdrop amidst lush emerald green foliage and a kaleidoscopic fluttering of birds and butterflies. Ranked as one of Africa’s most ancient rainforests, trekking through this lush abundant thicket is a captivating experience; made all the more spectacular when you silently come upon these majestic beauties. This is a spectacularly humbling experience that you will never forget.

Eight tents feature queen-sized beds and generous bathtubs that look out onto the forest canopy. Guests can sample delicious fare or enjoy an evening drink in the cosy bar and dining cottage overlooking the rainforest.
