Day 01: Nairobi / Masai Mara

Your adventure begins early in Nairobi at 6:15am when Solvo Tours & Safaris picks you up from your hotel in the CBD. You will be transferred to Wilson Airport and arrive by 6:30am to board your flight to Masai Mara. The scenic 45-minute flight offers a bird’s-eye view of Kenya’s landscapes, from rolling hills to savannah plains. You will land at Keekorok Airstrip around 8:10am, where our experienced guide, Masai Martin, will meet you and immediately begin your safari adventure.

Starting from the airstrip, your first game drive immerses you in the heart of Masai Mara National Reserve. The reserve is renowned for its abundance of wildlife, and you will have excellent opportunities to spot members of the Big Five: lions, buffaloes, African elephants, and with luck, elusive leopards. The morning game drive allows you to traverse diverse habitats, from open plains to riverine woodlands, capturing the richness of the Mara ecosystem.

At noon, you will arrive at your lodge or camp, either Ashnil Luxury Camp or Sarova Mara Camp or similar lodge/camp, for check-in and lunch. After a brief rest or time to enjoy the pool, the afternoon game drive begins at 4pm and continues until 6:30pm. You will explore deeper into the reserve, reaching the Mara River to observe hippos and Nile crocodiles, while keeping an eye out for other predators and grazing animals. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 02: Masai Mara / Nairobi

After an early breakfast, you embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch, departing around 6:30am. The morning is spent tracking predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as observing large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles grazing across the plains. Your guide will provide insights into animal behavior, ecosystem dynamics, and the delicate balance of predator and prey in this world-famous reserve.

The afternoon portion of your safari takes you along the banks of the Mara River, a vital water source that serves as the gateway for the annual wildebeest migration from Tanzania’s Serengeti. Here, you may witness dramatic river crossings, where millions of wildebeest and zebras navigate treacherous waters, pursued by crocodiles and surrounded by keen-eyed predators. The Mara’s biodiversity is astounding, with over 450 recorded species, including hippos, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, jackals, and numerous bird species.

At approximately 2:00pm, after an unforgettable safari experience, you will be transferred to Keekorok Airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. The flight provides a final aerial view of the Mara plains, a fitting end to a day filled with wildlife encounters, breathtaking landscapes, and the thrill of East Africa’s natural wonders. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred back to your hotel, concluding your fly-in safari with Solvo Tours & Safaris
