8 Days 7 Nights Safari

Day 1: Nairobi

Upon arrival at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you will be met by our company representative and transferred to the Fairmont Hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi-Maasai Mara

You will be met at the airport by our company representative at the hotel briefing and thereafter transferred to Nairobi Wilson Airport for your onward flight to Masai Mara for a flight that departs at 1000am, arriving at 1110am. Arrive and be met by the camp’s driver. After a brief introduction, you will have an en-route game drive as you head to the camp for lunch and some rest. Masai Mara Reserve is considered Kenya’s prime wildlife area. This is due to the acacia-dotted plain scenery of stunning beauty where black-maned lions, cheetahs, and leopards are found in abundance. Elephants, giraffes, and genet cats, just to mention a few Mara also hosts over 450 species of birds, including the national bird of Kenya, the lilac-breasted roller bird, and other nocturnal birds. Depart for a late afternoon game drive, the best time to catch the cats as they crawl out from their shadow, ready to make their next kill, and return as darkness sets.

Day 3: Maasai Mara Full Day

Enjoy morning and afternoon safari activities at Basecamp Masai Mara. Game drives are the best way to see the big wildlife, including the famous big cats of the Masai Mara. For the big cats—the lions, the cheetahs, and the leopards—the migration season is a time of abundance. The vast amount of available prey allows the cats to grow strong and produce healthy offspring. Return to camp for dinner, followed by story-sharing and stargazing around the fireplace.

Day 4: Maasai Mara-Naibosho Conservancy

Rise early for a morning game drive in Masai Mara Reserve. Enjoy driving across the vast Mara Plains and keep your eyes open, for anything is possible! After breakfast, spend your time relaxing in camp, watching the wildlife right in front of your tent. The camp has a lot of eco-initiatives that you may wish to learn about during your stay. Learn about Basecamp’s reforestation project that is intended to rewild the Mara. We encourage our guests to contribute to offsetting their carbon footprint by planting a tree for a minimal fee. Later, head to Eagle View for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Naibosho Conservancy Full Day

Eagle View is situated inside Naboisho Conservancy. Inside Naboisho, the number of vehicles permitted is strictly limited. This has the double advantage of attracting a wide array of species as well as creating a more exclusive viewing experience for tourists. Within the conservancy, you will encounter the northern migration of wildebeest, the not-so-distant relative of the wildebeest migrating from the Serengeti that you meet in the National Reserve. As you drive, enjoy the varied landscape of Naboisho, presently offering the highest density of lions on the planet.

Day 6: Naibosho Full Day

Start your day with a morning walking safari. Walking alongside the Maasai is an unforgettable experience, which perfectly echoes the wanderings of the wildebeest. During your walk, your guide will show you the finer details of the savannah, including wildlife footprints and dung. Your walk ends at Leopard Hill. Arrive at Leopard Hill in time for lunch. Relax and enjoy the views. You can see incredible and exciting sightings straight from the camp, so make use of the binoculars provided. Cherish the experience of viewing the savannah from a different perspective, an experience that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

Day 7: Naibosho Full Day

Wake up at dawn to an array of optional safari activities, including morning yoga and early morning and afternoon game drives from the camp. As the camp is situated in a private conservancy, the number of camps and vehicles here is strictly limited, offering an exclusive safari experience. Wind up your day watching the sunset over the African horizon with a Basecamp sundowner on an evening game drive. When driving back to camp, you will have a night game drive experience.

Day 8: Naibosho-Nairobi

Wake up for a final morning game drive. Return to camp for breakfast. Take some time to gather your belongings. After lunch, say your goodbyes and check out as you cherish the memories and reflect on your memorable safari experience. Enjoy one last game drive on your way to Ol Seki Airstrip, where you will catch your flight back to Nairobi (11:15 a.m.–13:00 p.m.)Upon arrival, you will be met by our company representative and transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
