12‑Day Kenya Fly‑In Safari Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive at Nairobi (JKIA), private transfer to a top city hotel to recover from travel. Enjoy a relaxing evening — fine dining, comfortable suite, and rest before your safari begins.
Suggested accommodation: A boutique or luxury‑style Nairobi hotel to settle in.
Day 2 — Fly to Samburu/Northern Kenya
After breakfast, take a charter flight from Nairobi to the north, into the remote northern wildlife region. Upon arrival, settle into your luxury lodge and enjoy your first game drive. Evening sundowner wraps up your first taste of Kenya’s arid wilderness.
Suggested accommodation: A high‑end lodge in the Samburu/Laikipia region known for quality hospitality and unique northern wildlife.
Day 3 — Samburu/Northern Reserve Safari
Full day exploring the unique fauna of semi‑arid Kenya. Expect to see species found only in the north (special antelopes, desert‑adapted animals, maybe rare giraffe subspecies). Afternoon at leisure — pool, spa, or lodge relaxation — then another game drive at dusk.
Suggested accommodation: Same as Day 2 lodge for continuity and deep immersion.
Day 4 — Fly from Samburu to Laikipia/Highlands or Conservancy Zone
Board a charter flight south or southwest to a highland or conservancy area (less arid, more varied terrain). Spend the afternoon settling in, walking around the lodge grounds, or getting a gentle nature walk in.
Suggested accommodation: A luxury conservancy lodge or highland retreat, offering scenic views and access to wildlife as well as comfort.
Day 5 — Laikipia Wildlife & Relaxation
Enjoy a full day of safari in this region: game drives, maybe walking safaris, bird watching — a contrast to the north’s arid land. Afternoon relax at the lodge — perhaps enjoy spa, pool, or scenic lounge.
Suggested accommodation: Same lodge, offering tranquillity and quality hospitality.
Day 6 — Fly to Amboseli National Park
A charter flight takes you from highlands down to southern Kenya, landing near Amboseli. From the airstrip you proceed to your lodge/camp. First game drive in the evening, with potential views of elephants and, if skies are clear, distant Mount Kilimanjaro.
Suggested accommodation: A luxury camp or lodge in Amboseli that offers excellent views and comfort.
Day 7 — Full Day in Amboseli — Elephants, Big Game & Scenic Views
Spend a full day in Amboseli searching for elephants, plains game, big cats, and enjoying the wetlands and swamps of the park. Evening at the lodge — relax, enjoy dinner under the stars, and reflect on the day’s sightings.
Suggested accommodation: Same Amboseli lodge for safe continuity and comfort.
Day 8 — Fly to the Iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, take a flight from Amboseli (or nearest airstrip) into the Mara. Arrive at your luxury tented camp or lodge deep in the reserve or on conservancy land. Afternoon game drive — first glimpses of Mara’s rich wildlife and sweeping savannah landscapes.
Suggested accommodation: A top‑tier luxury tented camp or lodge in the Mara, offering comfort and prime game‑drive access.
Day 9 — Full-Day Mara Safari — Big Five, Plains, Predators, Birdlife
Rise early for a sunrise game drive, when predators are often most active. Spend the day exploring the reserve — Big Five, plains game, birds, dramatic landscapes. Evening return to camp, dinner, and bush‑night ambience.
Suggested accommodation: Same Mara lodge or camp for a deep Mara experience.
Day 10 — Mara Stretch: Optional Balloon Ride & More Game Drives
Optional hot-air balloon safari at sunrise (weather permitting) for a breathtaking aerial view of the plains. Follow up with brunch, and then more game drives or perhaps a guided walk or cultural visit (depending on camp offerings).
Suggested accommodation: Continue at the Mara camp, enjoying full access and comfort.
Day 11 — Final Full Day in Mara — Safari & Relaxation
Use your last full day to revisit favourite zones, search for elusive predators, or just soak in the savannah’s majesty. As evening falls, enjoy a special dinner under the African stars — a fitting finale to your wild adventure.
Suggested accommodation: Same Mara lodge/camp for closure and convenience.
Day 12 — Fly Back to Nairobi / Departure
After breakfast, board a charter back to Nairobi. Depending on flight schedule, connect to international departure or enjoy a comfortable day‑room or hotel stay in Nairobi before your onward journey.
