Days 2-3: Transfer Chyulu Hills

Accommodation: Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge – Fullboard
You will be driven to Wilson Airport, where you will board a flight to Tsavo West Airstrip. On arrival, you will be met by our driver guide who will drive you to Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge.

Tucked between the Tsavo West and Amboseli National Parks, the striking and diverse landscapes of Chyulu Hills are a must-see. The park has ancient volcanic cinder cones and craters, with the most recent volcanic peak forming just 500 years ago. It is also home to the longest lava tube in the world. Visitors will delight in breathtaking vistas of Mt Kilimanjaro and the wonderful selection of game, including buffalo, antelope, elephant, leopard, wildebeest and zebra. The birdwatcher’s paradise of Lake Jipe is found in the south-western corner of the reserve.

ol Donyo Lodge is located on over 111,000 hectares of private land in the heart of the Chyulu Hills, between Kenya’s Tsavo and Amboseli National Parks. The property, honed from the ancient lava rock spewed out of Kilimanjaro 360,000 years ago, creates a timelessness that touches everyone visiting us. Safari experiences include horseback safaris, mountain bike safaris, guided walking safaris and open vehicle game drives.

Meals: Fullboard | Stay:Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge (3 nights)

Days 4-6: Transfer Samburu National Reserve

Accommodation: Sasaab Camp
Return to the airstrip for yet another flight to Samburu Airstrip, from there a short minute drive will take you to Sasaab camp. The best feature of Samburu is not the wildlife or the picturesque surroundings, but the fact that it is one of Kenya’s lesser visited regions. The peaceful atmosphere and authentic wilderness experience set it apart from the better known wilderness reserves. Situated along the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River, with its palm groves and dense forests, there is plentiful wildlife and the bird watching is especially good. The rest of the reserve is fairly hot and semi-arid, making for easy game viewing.

Enjoy three nights in a thatched room with sensational views and private pool at Saasab Camp. Perched on the edge of a river valley, the architecture of Sasaab blends Swahili and Moroccan design principals in which the African heat is of primary consideration. Each of the nine canvas-sided rooms is over 100m² with private plunge pools and breath-taking views across the Laikipia Plateau toward the jagged peaks of Mount Kenya. Its position above the river naturally facilitates watching the herds of elephant that come to bathe below as well as a host of other wildlife.

Meals: Fullboard | Stay: Sasaab Camp (3 nights)

Days 7-9: Transfer Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Accommodation: Naibor Camp
You will return to the airstrip, where you will board a flight to Mara. On arrival, a short drive will take you to the camp. Kenya’s most renowned game park, the Masai Mara is situated on the northern border of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Its legendary Great Migration of over two million wildebeest and other antelope has been described as one of nature’s greatest wildlife spectacles. Game viewing in this celebrated park is wonderful year round, with virtually guaranteed sightings of the Big Five. The park takes its name from the Mara River, which flows through the reserve, and the Maasai people, a well-known tribe with a distinctive red dress and proud demeanour.

Your three Nights will be in Naibor luxury tented camp, a striking combination of contemporary style and comfort, in the heart of Kenya’s world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Naibor camp is hidden in a grove of riverine woodland on the banks of the Talek River and consists of sweeping pale canvas tents, king sized beds made from local fig-wood, wide sofas furnished with bolster cushions, and wool rugs – a luxurious base from which to explore the Mara’s fabulous wildlife throughout the year and the wildebeest migration.
