Mount Kenya Climbing

Mount Kenya offers some of East Africa’s most spectacular trekking experiences, with three main routes that showcase the mountain’s incredible diversity. The Sirimon Route is known for its gradual ascent and beautiful high-altitude landscapes, taking climbers through forest, moorland, and the stunning Mackinder Valley. Chogoria Route, often described as the most scenic, features dramatic cliffs, sparkling lakes, and wide-open valleys, offering breathtaking views of the mountain’s eastern side. Both routes provide excellent acclimatization and a rewarding approach to Point Lenana.

The Naro Moru Route is the most direct path to the summit, famous for the “Vertical Bog” and its fast ascent, making it ideal for experienced or well-acclimatized climbers. Many trekkers choose a combination—ascending via Sirimon or Chogoria and descending through Naro Moru—to enjoy both scenic beauty and efficiency. Together, these routes highlight Mount Kenya’s unique alpine landscapes, wildlife-rich forests, and unforgettable summit sunrises, creating a truly remarkable mountain adventure.
