As a medical missioner who has visited Kenya many times with our nonprofit group, we are offered a welcome vacation at the end of our medical camp week each year. Over the years Ann at African Outback Safaris has planned and managed our entire experience. We have had small groups(4) to large groups(24) and every single time Ann has delivered on accommodation, transportation and timing. The safaris offered are the greatest surprise and help us connect to our Earth after seeing hundreds of patients. The relaxation is amazing. The education is exceptional. The service is like nothing else anywhere! The African heart is huge and to be able to experience this on safari is a perfect ending to our trips there. We are pampered to the limits of pampering after we have given all we can. It’s a wonderful way to re-enter our world.

My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to Kenya for a safari in August 2020. The year has notbeen great for us and then with COVID hitting we needed something to lift our spirits. We have been toAfrica many times for work as well as for pleasure. We used the same company who helped plan our tripto Kenya 5 years ago, African Outback Safaris. Of course, we were nervous about COVID, but took all theprecautions that we could. African Outback Safaris helped us plan the entire safari and provided us withup-to-date information on COVID testing and travel. Due to some unexpected flight cancellations, they hadto rearrange our safari plans, but did so very quickly. They also confirmed all the COVID policies at thesafari camps and hotels to ease any anxiety we had. On arriving in Nairobi, they picked-us up in a van thathad installed a protective divider and the driver was wearing a mask. During our entire stay they kept intouch with us and the safari companies to ensure that everything went smoothly.

In general, Kenya had very strict regulations which was also comforting. To enter the country you have topresent an Covid negative test certificate not older than 96hrs since issue. In the country there aremultiple temperature check stations and it is legally mandated to wear a mask. All hotels tookprecautions, shifting eating to outside spaces and six feet apart.

Going on the safari was very safe as it is an outdoor activity. We had a great time and were able to see thegreat migration without too many others around.

African Outback Safaris did a great job and we highly recommend them. We have used them for both oursafari experiences in Kenya and Tanzania.

Sorry to take so long getting back to you. We enjoyed our trip to Lake Nakuru. We saw many animals and had a very fun and relaxing time there. Peter was an excellent guide and driver. He was very informative and was able to answer all our questions. We enjoyed the lodge and the grounds and the food was good. It was an excellent experience and we would choose your agency again.
